The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) on Sunday (August 18) commenced passenger operations at Meerut South RRTS station. With this new addition, 42 kilometers of the 82-kilometer Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor will be operational.

“Public Notice! The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut #RRTS corridor is now operational between Sahibabad and Meerut South stations. Tickets for the #NamoBharat Train can be purchased at all stations or via the ‘#RRTSConnect’ app. Thank you for your support,” Namo Bharat Delhi Meerut said in a tweet.

Earlier, in a statement issued on Saturday, the NCRTC confirmed that the Meerut South RRTS station will open at 2 PM. “The Meerut South RRTS station will open for passenger operations from Sunday at 2 pm. With the addition of this eight-km section, a total of 42 km of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is now operational, including nine stations from Sahibabad in Ghaziabad to Meerut South in Meerut,” it said.

Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Update

Currently, 42 kilometers of the RRTS corridor, stretching from Sahibabad, is already in operation. The entire 82-kilometer Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor is expected to be fully operational by June 2025, according to NCRTC officials.
