Since its inauguration in October 2023, the 17-kilometer-long Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor has been remotely flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The event took place on Wednesday (March 6) covering the stretch from Duhai to Modi Nagar North.

Part of the first phase of the RapidX initiative by the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), the Delhi-Meerut RRTS, also known colloquially as Rapid Rail, is one of three rapid rail corridors. It spans 82.15 km (51.05 mi) and serves as a semi-high-speed rail and regional rail corridor, linking the National Capital Region (NCR) cities of Delhi, Ghaziabad, and Meerut. The fare structure for the Delhi-Meerut RRTS distinguishes between standard and premium class tickets, with prices contingent on the journey’s distance and the selected class. For travel between stations like Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, and Duhai Depot, standard class tickets are priced between Rs 20 and Rs 50, while premium class tickets range from Rs 40 to Rs 100.
