Food delivery giant Swiggy on Wednesday announced the rollout of ‘Mom’entum 2.0, an enhanced maternity policy offering comprehensive support to mothers throughout their motherhood journey.
The multi-year programme allows mothers to work from home for up to a year after completing 26 weeks of maternity leave, with options for part-time roles and prorated pay. The policy ensures role protection, guaranteeing returning mothers access to at least three comparable internal job opportunities.
Key features
Key features include pre-childbirth IVF support, financial assistance for newborn care, child insurance coverage, and specialised mental health sessions addressing postpartum challenges. The company will also provide mentorship through its “Swiggy Moms Community” and maintain performance ratings during maternity leave.
“Motherhood isn’t a single event, but a journey with evolving needs and challenges,” said Girish Menon, chief human resources officer at Swiggy. “This long-term, structured programme offers meaningful support, especially during the most formative years of motherhood.”
Initiative
The initiative builds on Swiggy’s gender-neutral parental policy introduced in 2020, which covers adoption, surrogacy, and IVF treatments. The company had also expanded its caregiving support in 2024 with a policy for pet parents.
