The all-new Toyota Innova 2016’s first official picture has been finally released by the company ahead of its global debut at the 2015 Jakarta Motor Show on 23rd November. Toyota Indonesia has tweeted the front fascia of the car, thus revealing the changes it will come up with. Expected to make its India debut at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo, the new Toyota Innova may be launched by the end of 2016 or early 2017.

As can be seen in pictures, the new Toyota Innova gets an all-new front fascia. With a new grille with two chrome slats, redesigned bumper with larger air-dam, sweptback projector headlamps headlamps with LED daytime running lights, the Toyota Innova 2016 looks sportier and edgier than the outgoing model.

Though the company hasn’t yet revealed the side and rear profile pictures of the new model, spy shots doing rounds reveal that the Toyota Innova 2016 has nothing in common with the existing version.

To be offered in three trim levels – G, V and Q, the new Toyota Innova will be offered with a 2.0-litre petrol and an all-new 2.4-litre GD diesel engine in some markets. Though the India-bound model is likely to get only the latter one, which is good for 147bhp and 360Nm. The same engine will also power the new-generation Toyota Fortuner. Transmission options on offer could be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic. Toyota claims that the new diesel engine will be about 10 per cent more fuel efficient than the one powering the current model.

Besides the new engine, the new Toyota Innova also gets an all-new IMP (International Multi-Purpose Vehicle) platform that is lighter yet stiffer than that of the current generation model. The new Toyota Fortuner will also be based on the same platform.
