Suzuki Motorcycle India today announced that it has begun assembly of its flagship model – Suzuki Hayabusa – at its plant in Gurgaon, Haryana. With this initiative, the Japanese two-wheele maker extends its support towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ mission of transforming India into a global manufacturing hub. The made-in-India Suzuki Hayabusa is priced at Rs 13.57 lakh (ex-showroom).
To be imported as completely knocked down (CKD) kits, the Hayabusa will be assembled at the same factory where other Suzuki motorcycles are being manufactured. The specifications of the India-made Suzuki Hayabusa will remain similar to the completely built up (CBU) version that the company had been importing from Japan before.

This is a clear indication of the high demands in this ever growing market. Along with growth, comes maturity. Coupled with growth in lifestyle and infrastructure, there is an increasing demand for Big Bikes by the Indian Enthusiast. SMIPL shall cater to this by starting assembly of our most widely selling big bike, the Suzuki Hayabusa. We firmly believe in the Make in India program and this another step to show our support even in the big bike market.”
Since the local assembly of the Suzuki Hayabusa will bring down its cost a little, the benefit will be transferred to its customers, says the company.
