While all other e-commerce players will start their festive period sale from Tuesday, Snapdeal has already kicked off its online shopping festivity with its Monday preview sale on electronic products. Snapdeal claims it is set to cross $100 million in sales.
“The tremendous support from our sellers enabled us to provide attractive deals and really solid discounts which resulted in this phenomenal response we have received today. We are well on track to reach $100 million sales on our Electronics Monday Sale,” said Rahul Taneja, vice president, category management, Snapdeal.
By Monday evening, Snapdeal said it recorded an increase of 17x in sales revenue on Snapdeal during the one day sale.
It claimed to have sold five mobile phones per second on its platform during the one day sale.
Popular brands in mobile category were Xiaomi, Micromax, Yu, Samsung and Apple.
