Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) announced that the company has emerged as the lowest bidder for an order from IRCON International Ltd. In a regulatory filing, it said that the contract is for the supply of various signalling, telecommunications and electronic in-motion weigh bridge (EIMWB) materials.
The order is worth Rs 178.64 crore and has to be executed in the next 11 months.
The order will involve installation, testing and commissioning of distributed/centralised electronic interlocking installations at 10 new stations, including Surakacchar, Block Cabin, Katghora Road, Bhingra, Putuwa, Matin, Sendurgarh, Putipakhana, Dhangawan and Bhadi stations. It will also include six new intermediate block signalling (IBS) in the Bhingra-Putuwa, Putuwa-Matin, Sendurgarh-Putipakhana, Putipakhana-Bhadi, Bhadi Dhangawan & Dhangawan-Pendra Road block sections.
The project will also involve installation, testing and commissioning of a new section control system with headquarters and wayside train control communication equipment/system in the Gevra Road-Pendra Road section. It will also conduct same operations at new Telephone Exchange and EIMWBs at appropriate location(s) through execution of various signalling & telecommunications works;
Lastly, the order also involved alterations or modifications in the existing panel interlocking installation at Kusmunda Block Station (KBS) yard and the existing electronic interlocking installation at East Cabin of the SECL SILO Siding (KMKA) yard including other miscellaneous works.
This is the second order bagged by the company in the last 5 days. Earlier on May 15, RVNL had received a letter of intent from the Central Railway for an order worth nearly Rs 116 crore for the upgradation of the electric traction system.
Shares of RVNL were down 2.74 per cent at 9:50 am today at a trading price of Rs 419.20.
