State-run Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) on Friday said that it has ample fuel stocks across its outlets and its supply lines are operating smoothly. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), IOCL said, “Indian Oil has ample fuel stocks across the country and our supply lines are operating smoothly. There is no need for panic buying—fuel and LPG is readily available at all our outlets.”
Further, it urged the people to stay calm and avoid unnecessary rush. “Help us serve you better by staying calm and avoiding unnecessary rush. This will keep our supply lines running seamlessly and ensure uninterrupted fuel access for all,” it said.
The statement was in response to the social media posts and videos that showed people queuing up outside petrol pumps to stock up on fuel on speculation of supply shortage on the back of escalations between India and Pakistan following ‘Operation Sindoor’.
The attack was in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 which claimed the lives of 26 people at Baisran valley. Following this, tension between India and Pakistan escalated with Pakistan violating the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) and now resorting to heavy artillery shelling in border areas along LoC.
