Security systems have become an integral part of virtually every fact of life. India’s homeland security (HS) spend is now larger than the overall defence budget of many countries. The modernization plans for the Army, Para Military Forces and State Police have enhanced the focus on security equipment. The Hon’ble Prime Minister’s focus on ‘Make in India’ will provide a further boost to the manufacturers in this segment.

There have been a spate of incidents in which the coastal police have come under fire while engaging with anti social elements in Indian and international waters. This has brought the focus on the safety of our security personnel on board naval vessels. Understanding the need for equipping our marine forces with proper protection gear suited for the marine environment, the Government of India, has initiated steps for the procurement of suitable Floatation Ballistic Jacket. In a recent tender of the Indian Coast Guard, MKU Floatation Ballistic Jacket   successfully cleared not only the ballistic evaluation trials but also remained afloat with 80 kgs load in seawater conditions. The rigorous floatation test was carried out after firing trials.

MKU Pvt. Ltd., a leading manufacturer of ballistic protection solutions for both personnel and platforms, will be showcasing its indigenously developed and manufactured Floatation Jacket ‘Instafloat’, at the India International Security Expo being held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from October 8-11, 2015.
