Microsoft on Monday announced its partnership with Adobe Systems Inc in an attempt to provide cloud-based products to their hugely common user base. The partnership will help Adobe to compete with other leading cloud competitors like Amazon.com Inc. Abode will now be bringing its software programmes like Photoshop and illustrator to Microsoft’s Azure cloud-computing service, both the companies said in a joint statement on Monday. Meanwhile, Microsoft is also to choose Adobe’s marketing programmes for its internet-based software to manage customer relationships.

Both the companies, especially Adobe-a pioneer in the shift to the cloud, are attempting a boost in sales in an area where subscription based services can be more tempting to the consumers than the traditionally installed software. the partnership between the companies would also help them to join forces opposing the Salesforce.com Inc. The Salesforce.Inc competes with Adobe for the cloud-based marketing customers as well as with Microsoft for customer software and is a partner to Microsoft in other sectors. This partnership also gives Microsoft an edge over the Amazon Web Services, Amazon’s market-leading cloud service.

Chief executive officer Satya Nadella, who is in his third year at the top of the biggest software company in the world, has been reorienting Microsoft’s cloud business and productivity services to help growth ss traditional software are going down. Microsoft has pledged to reach an annual revenue of US $20 billion from commercial cloud products  by 2018.
