E-commerce platform Meesho has announced the appointment of four independent directors to its board, strengthening its corporate governance structure.
The new appointees are Kalpana Morparia, former chairman of South and South East Asia at JPMorgan; Hari S Bhartia, founder and co-chairman of Jubilant Bhartia Group; Surojit Chatterjee, founder and CEO of AI firm Ema; and Rohit Bhagat, non-executive chairman on the board of PhonePe.

The new independent directors bring varied experience to the board. Morparia has over 45 years of experience in India’s financial sector and currently serves on boards of several global companies. Bhartia leads a group with four listed companies having a combined market cap of around $7.65 billion.
Chatterjee has previously held senior positions at Coinbase and Google, while Bhagat has had leadership roles at BlackRock and Barclays Global Investors.
Meesho’s existing board includes co-founders Vidit Aatrey and Sanjeev Barnwal, along with representatives from Prosus Ventures, Peak XV Partners, Elevation Capital, and SoftBank Investment Advisers.
