L&T’s bullet train project order
Larsen and Toubro’s latest order from NPCI comes just a day after winning a large-scale work order in the bullet train project. On September 15, L&T received an order from the National High Speed Rail Corporation to construct 156 km of high-speed ballastless track for the Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor.
The company said that the work order, which falls under the ‘large’ category, could amount to Rs 2,500 crore to Rs 5,000 crore. The company said that the order includes the design, supply, construction, testing and commissioning of track-works between Mumbai and Zaroli village in Gujarat.
This was the second track-work order that L&T won in the bullet train project. In April 2022, the company received the order for 116 km of track. L&T is now responsible for over 50 per cent of the track works in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor.
