JSW Infrastructure posted a 31 per cent year-on-year profit growth in first quarter of fiscal year 2025-26. The company posted a profit of Rs 389.5 crore in Q1FY26, while its profit in Q1FY25 stood at Rs 296.5 crore.

However, on a quarter-on-quarter basis, JSW Infra’s profit slipped by 24 per cent in Q1 as it was Rs 515.5 crore in Q4FY26.

JSW Infrastructure registered a revenue of Rs 1223.8 crore in Q1FY26 against a revenue of Rs 1009.7 crore in Q1FY25, growing 21.2 per cent on a YoY basis. However, on a QoQ basis, the revenue also declined by 4.6 per cent as it was Rs 1283 crore in Q4FY25.

Why is growth slowing?

The slowdown in the growth of JSW Infrastructure can be attributed to its cargo handling performance and EBITDA margins. The company handled a total of 29.4 MT cargo in the quarter, growing by just 5 per cent on a YoY basis.

Other than handling the cargo from JSW group, half of the business comes from handling 3rd-party cargo. The third-party cargo share increased from 50 per cent in Q1FY25 to 52 per cent in Q1FY26.

Secondly, the company’s EBITDA margins have also taken a hit in the quarter. JSW Infra’s EBITDA margins have decreased from 55.1 per cent in Q1FY25 to 51.1 per cent in Q1FY26.
