Come January and Tata Motors commercial vehicles will cost more. The company has announced a 2% price hike on its trucks and buses, starting January 1 due to higher input costs. This will be applied to all models and variants of the trucks and buses, though the exact price will vary by model.
Tata Motors: Price Hikes on commercial vehicles this year
Previously Tata Motors had hiked prices thrice this year, once in the beginning of the year, wherein there was a price increase of up to 3% and the other two, in April and July. The company announced the price hike on all its commercial vehicles, in tApril, covering the remaining impact of previous input costs. Though the exact price differed depending upon the vehicle, it was applied on all commercial vehicles. The third price hike happened in July, wherein the company stated a price increase of up to 2% on all their commercial vehicles.

Ultra T.9 and Ultra T.14
In the beginning of this year, in February, Tata Motors launched the Ultra range of multipurpose heavy-duty trucks, Ultra T.9 and Ultra T.14, in South Africa. These trucks were designed for a range of logistics tasks, including bakery, FMCG, white goods, agriculture, and construction.
These trucks are powered by turbocharged diesel engines with industry-leading power and torque output, the Ultra T.9 (powered with a 3.3L engine) and Ultra T.14 (powered with a 5.0L engine) provide a dependable solution for carrying heavy loads over long distances and tough terrains. They come equipped with parabolic suspension for smooth and continuous operation. Additionally, they come with Tata Motors’ Fleet Edge system for efficient fleet management, boosting productivity.
The trucks features a walk-through cabin, power steering, dashboard-mounted gear lever, booster assisted clutch and mechanically suspended seat for safe and fatigue-free driving.
Magic Bi-Fuel
In the month of April, Tata Motors launched a new variant of the Tata Magic, the Magic Bi-Fuel that came with features such as an Eco switch, gearshift advisor and improved driver ergonomics.
It is powered by a 694cc engine and comes with a 60 litre CNG tank along with a 5 litre petrol tank, with a total range of around 380 kilometres on a single fill and a warranty of 2 years or 72,000 km.
Ace EV 1000
In the month of May, to strengthen its e-car mobility solutions and revolutionise last mile-mobility, Tata Motors launched Ace EV 1000 mini truck that gave, higher-rated payload of 1 tonne and a certified range of 161km on a single charge.
The all-electric cargo pickup, Ace EV is powered by an EVOGEN powertrain that has a 27kW (36hp) motor with 130 Nm of peak torque, has grade-ability allowing easy ascend in fully loaded conditions. The powertrain features a 7-year battery warranty and a 5-year maintenance package and comes with flexible cargo decks. Delivering safety in all-weather operations with an advanced battery cooling system and regenerative braking system, it allows regular and fast charging capabilities for high uptime.
With support from over 150 Electric Vehicle Support Centres globally, the Ace EV features an advanced battery management system, Fleet Edge telematics system, and durable components for top-tier uptime.
Tata Ultra EV 7M
The last launch of a commercial vehicle by Tata Motors was in the month of August. The company launched Tata Ultra EV 7M, an intra-city electric bus, at Prawaas 4.0, a 3-day biennial event that highlighted safe, smart and sustainable integrated mass mobility solutions. Tata Motors, along with this, also showcased a wide range of passenger transport solutions including the Tata Magna EV, Tata Magic Bi-fuel, Tata Ultra Prime CNG, Tata Winger 9S, Tata CityRide Prime and Tata LPO 1822 at the event.
The Tata Ultra EV 7M is powered by a 213kW electric motor and IP67-rated 200kWh Li-ion battery, offering a range of up to 160 km in a single charge and comes with fast charging capability, enabling a full charge in just 2.5 hours. It also offers comfortable seating for 21 passengers and provides smooth driving in narrow lanes and high-traffic urban landscapes with its easy manoeuvrability and ideal dimensions.
It comes equipped with advanced features such as electronic braking system and electronic stability control, automatic passenger counter and gives high safety and security standards with its Intelligent Transport System (ITS). The Ultra EV 7M also incorporates regenerative braking technology, further enhancing its efficiency and range.
