Tata Motors has won another order for 1,297 units of bus chassis from Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC), marking its the third order from UPSRTC this year, totalling over 3,500 units. The order was secured through a competitive e-bidding process and will be delivered in phases according to agreed terms.
Developed specifically for intercity and long-distance travel, the Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus chassis, are known for their performance, passenger comfort and low total cost of ownership (TCO).

The Tata LPO 1618 diesel bus is BS-VI compliant and is powered by Cummins 5.6L engines that give 180 bhp and 675 Nm of peak torque. It comes with 6 engine options, a chassis with face cowl type, and can carry up to 10,700 kgs.

This order was followed by the order of 1,350 units of Tata LPO 1618 bus chassis in December 2023 and 1,000 units in October 2024, through the same e-bidding process, and is helping in improving India’s public transport system, linking urban and rural areas and ensuring smooth mobility for millions of people.
