In a significant leadership change, Hero MotoCorp elevated Sanjay Bhan as the Executive Vice President effective from September 1, 2024. Bhan, currently serving as the Chief Business Officer – Global Business. In his new role, Bhan will lead the Global Product Planning (GPP) portfolio and the newly established Global Market Insights function, according to the official announcement from the company.
“This new function will be our strategic engine, enabling us to anticipate customer and market trends, seize opportunities ahead of time, and further solidify our position as a thought leader in the industry,” stated Niranjan Gupta, CEO, Hero MotoCorp.
Sanjay Bhan’s association with IT Hero spans over three decades, beginning on January 1, 1991. Throughout his tenure, Sanjay has been instrumental in steering various business verticals and driving growth. As Head of India Business, he led the company to achieve significant market shares and introduced brands such as the CBZ Xtreme, Karizma ZMR, and Splendor iSmart.
Additionally, Bhan founded the Rural Vertical, expanding IT Hero’s reach across rural India while prioritizing responsible growth.
According to the official statement, as the current Head of Global Business, Bhan has led IT Hero’s expansion into Southeast Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The company is trying to enter new markets in Europe and Brazil under his guidance.
In his expanded role, Bhan will report to the CEO for Global Business and GPP and directly to the Executive Chairman as the head of the Global Market Insights function, while also leading the sports vertical.
