Chetak EV available for police force under Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar

This partnership is said to be effective from 18 September onward.

The electric two-wheeler company, Chetak, announced its partnership with Kendriya Police Kalyan Bhandar (KPKB), Ministry of Home Affairs, to offer the Chetak 2903 to KPKB beneficiaries across the country. The Chetak Urbanite Business Unit has listed the Chetak 2903 on KPKB and is said to be effective on September 18.

What does the partnership offer?

As the Chetak 2903 are now authorized to be sold across India, to KPKB beneficiaries at special rates by Chetak Experience Centres (CECs); this partnership can be availed by presenting an authorized letter obtained from the nearest ‘Master Bhandar’ or ‘Subsidiary Bhandar’, along with a valid departmental identity card. Once the authorization is secured, the vehicles can be purchased through any local Chetak dealer, making the process seamless and extremely accessible.

Chetak 2903: Features

To contribute to the greener future by expanding access to electric vehicles, the company designed the model with a durable, high-quality frame and materials that ensure long-lasting performance. The two-wheeler also offers a range of 123 km per charge with 2.88 Kwh battery capacity, offering a top speed of 63 km per hour, a brushless DC electric motor (BLDC) with power of 4.2 kw.

Established in 2006 as a welfare initiative by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, the KPKB supports the needs of the Central Armed Police Forces, including the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, and Assam Rifles. Its benefits also extend to several Central Police Organizations, such as the IB, BPRD, and NCRB, among others.
