Bridgestone India, part of Bridgestone Corporation, a global tyres and sustainable mobility solutions company has announced the milestone of its Indore plant producing the 100 millionth tyre.
This achievement it says coincides with Bridgestone India’s silver jubilee, marking 25-years of operations in the country.
It was in 1998, Bridgestone India commenced operation with the Indore plant going on stream. Bridgestone says the production of 100 millionth tyre at its Indore plant shows its dedication towards serving the Indian market with Japanese tyre technology.
Stefano Sanchini, MD, Bridgestone India said, “Completing 100 million tyres from our Indore plant is a major milestone for Bridgestone India, and it comes at a perfect time, coinciding with our silver jubilee. It is heartening to see the pride amongst some of our people who brought out our first tyre manufactured in India 25 years ago, also bring forth the 100 millionth today.”
At present, Bridgestone India operates 2 plants one at Indore and the other at Pune. The company is investing Rs 600 crore on capacity and technology upgradation.
