Core Chain has officially launched Non-Custodial BTC Staking, marking a significant innovation in the cryptocurrency space by allowing Bitcoin (BTC) to be used as a yield-earning asset for the first time. This development was announced alongside a collaboration with DeFi Technologies Inc. and its subsidiary, Valour, to introduce groundbreaking Exchange Traded Products (ETPs), including the first-of-its-kind Yield Bearing BTC ETP.

These initiatives are designed to harness the unique capabilities of the Core Chain blockchain, enhancing the utility of Bitcoin without requiring users to relinquish custody of their assets. The Yield Bearing BTC ETP will offer returns derived directly from Core Chain’s block rewards, signifying a new era for Bitcoin as an actively yielding investment. Meanwhile, the new Core ETP will provide investors with yield-bearing opportunities through native staking rewards.

Valour Inc. will manage a validator node on the Core Blockchain, planning to stake $200 million in BTC. This move not only enhances the network’s security and efficiency but also solidifies the partnership’s commitment to merging traditional finance with blockchain innovations.

Olivier Roussy Newton, CEO of DeFi Technologies, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, “By introducing yield-bearing opportunities to Bitcoin through these ETPs, we’re not only enhancing its utility but also offering investors novel ways to engage with the world’s premier cryptocurrency.”

The launch of Non-Custodial BTC Staking and the innovative ETPs represents a pivotal moment in the evolution of digital assets, where the boundaries between traditional finance and decentralized finance are increasingly merging, promising unparalleled investment opportunities in the future.
