The Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council of India (ESC), with the support of the Embassy of India in Guatemala, organized a Buyer Seller Meet in the Information Technology (IT) Sector.

This landmark event served as a catalyst, bringing together an assembly of professionals deeply engaged in the IT sector from Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras last week.

On 21st September 2023, Ambassador of India to Guatemala, Dr Manoj Kumar Mohapatra delivered the keynote address, highlighting the Indian government’s IT strategy and emphasizing the immense potential of the Central American IT market, strategically positioned in proximity to the United States. He underscored the substantial contributions of major Indian IT companies already present in Guatemala, providing over 10,000 jobs to the Guatemalan workforce. The Indian envoy expressed his satisfaction with the overwhelming response to the Buyer Sellers Meet.

Sandeep Narula, Chairman, ESC, highlighted that the Buyer Seller Meet on Technology and Innovation marks a crucial milestone in strengthening economic ties between India and Central America. It offers a platform for mutually beneficial collaborations, furthering the growth of the IT sector in the region. The event provided an excellent opportunity for networking, knowledge sharing, and exploring potential collaborations in the IT Sector industry. He invited Guatemala delegates to visit INDIASOFT 2024 and India Electronics Expo scheduled in January 2024.

Addressing the event, Gurmeet Singh, Executive Director, ESC lauded the Indian Government’s dedicated efforts to explore the untapped market of Central America, particularly in fostering trade relations with Guatemala. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and bilateral trade enhancement, marking the event as a pivotal moment for potential collaborations, technology transfer, and mutually beneficial business partnerships between Indian companies and their Guatemalan counterparts.

The event fostered a dynamic environment for knowledge exchange and facilitated discussions on potential collaborations and business ventures.
