Akash Systems has signed a $27 million (Rs 2.25 billion) contract with NxtGen Datacenter and Cloud Technologies, India’s largest sovereign cloud provider. The deal will see Akash deliver its Diamond Cooled servers to NxtGen’s data centers nationwide, enhancing performance and efficiency across cloud infrastructure.
Akash Systems has developed a Diamond Cooling solution for the semiconductor sector, using synthetic diamond’s high thermal conductivity to enhance heat dissipation from semiconductor chips. This technology aims to improve thermal management for GPU chips, which can reach temperatures of 90°C to 100°C, by integrating diamond materials with existing cooling systems.
A S Rajgopal, CEO & MD, NxtGen said,“We are collaborating with Akash to set an industry benchmark for sustainable AI. Through a combination of Akash’s Diamond Cooling, waterless liquid cooling, and advanced GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD, we are able to double the performance per watt. This allows us to reduce the cost to our customers and bring down the cost of AI compute services by more than 50% from prevailing market rates and enable us to deliver very high-value AI use-cases to our customers.”
The partnership will enable NxtGen to enhance its AI compute offerings by using NVIDIA and AMD GPUs cooled with Akash’s Diamond Cooling technology. This collaboration aims to improve the energy efficiency and performance of NxtGen’s servers, supporting the company’s goal to provide cost-effective AI compute services to businesses across India.
Felix Ejeckam, CEO and co-founder of Akash Systems said,“Our Diamond Cooled GPU servers will empower NxtGen to deliver unparalleled performance and reliability to their customers, reinforcing their position as a leader in AI and other computer Solutions.”
