Vistara reportedly experienced disruptions in flight operations at Delhi and Mumbai airports due to pilots’ unavailability. On Wednesday, several flights were cancelled, and numerous others faced delays at both airports.

While specific details were not immediately available, Vistara refrained from commenting on the matter.

As a full-service carrier, Vistara operates more than 300 flights daily, boasting a fleet of 67 planes. Sources indicated that some pilots reported sick, impacting the flight schedule.

Additionally, there are concerns among pilots regarding the implementation of a new salary structure similar to that of Air India.

Increased number of sick leaves among pilots

The situation regarding pilots has been worsened by the seasonal trend of crew exhausting sick leaves as the financial year draws to a close, sources claimed. Furthermore, recent incidents of traffic congestion at Mumbai airport and weather disruptions have also contributed to flight delays and cancellations.

It’s noteworthy that Air India, Vistara, Air India Express, and AIX Connect are entities under the Tata Group umbrella. Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, operates in the aviation sector.
