Air India on Friday announced that following the merger, Vistara aircraft will be operated under the Air India banner and will feature a unique four-digit Air India code starting with the number “2.”
In a statement, the airline said that under this new arrangement, flight number UK 955 will become AI 2955. This will allow passengers to identify the flights while booking on Air India’s website post November 12.
Post the merger, the routes and schedule of Vistara aircraft will remain the same. Besides this, the Vistara in-flight experience, including the product and service, will be the same, serviced by the same crew.
Current members of Club Vistara will be smoothly transitioned to Air India’s Flying Returns program. As part of this merger, Flying Returns will also be transformed into a revamped program called ‘Maharaja Club.’
Both the airlines will formally merge on November 12, 2024.
