Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport in Patna on Wednesday (September 4) to review the ongoing construction of a new terminal. He urged officials to expedite the completion of the expansion project.

A statement from the Chief Minister’s Office revealed that Kumar inspected the construction progress and directed officials to accelerate the remaining tasks. He also chaired a review meeting at the airport, which was also attended by M Suresh, Chairman of the Airports Authority of India (AAI).

At the review meeting, Kumar emphasised the importance of enhanced facilities and better connectivity. He also offered state support for any additional needs during the construction.

  • The new terminal will include six additional parking stands, increasing the total from five to eleven.

  • Improve water drainage systems and quick access to the airport for passengers.

According to the statement, in addition to expanding Patna, Gaya, and Darbhanga airports, the state government is also working on establishing new airports in Purnea, Raxaul, Rajgir, and Bhagalpur.
