Newly appointed Aviation Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu has expressed his commitment to tackling the issue of escalating airfares and has emphasised that air travel is no longer exclusive to the affluent. Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu in a latest interview with news agency ANI signaled his aim of enhancing the travel experience for all passengers, regardless of their socio-economic background.

“Travelling by plane is no longer just for the rich. People from all classes are flying now, so I will strive to ensure better and more comfortable travel for them,” Naidu said.

Naidu also laid down his optimistic vision for the aviation sector, highlighting his eagerness to take on the responsibilities entrusted to him by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Prime Minister Modi has given me a big responsibility… I want to thank Prime Minister Modi for this… I am very excited to fulfill this responsibility… After taking charge, I will hold a review meeting and plan for the future,” stated Naidu.

What are Naidu’s ambitions for Indian aviation sector? 

Following his meeting with Prime Minister Modi, Naidu outlined his policy objectives, underscoring the need for greater youth engagement and investment in the aviation sector. 

“PM Modi has given me an important responsibility, and I will try to fulfill it. During our meeting, the PM told me that aviation requires more involvement from younger people. The sector has much scope and potential,” Naidu added.

All about New Aviation Minister of India 

Naidu will assume the role of Minister of Civil Aviation, alongside his Minister of State (MoS), Murlidhar Mohol, on June 13, Thursday. The previous aviation minister, BJP’s Jyotiradiya Scindia, will be succeeded by Naidu. At 36 years old, Naidu, a three-time Lok Sabha MP from Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam, becomes the youngest minister in the Modi 3.0 cabinet. 

Additionally, Naidu stated that he will travel to Andhra Pradesh (Vijayawada) for the swearing-in ceremony of N Chandrababu Naidu, who is scheduled to take the oath as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on June 12.
