The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Wednesday announced that it has established as many as 416 new positions within the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

According to a statement released by the ministry, these new positions are a testament to the DGCA’s commitment to ensuring aviation safety by employing a highly skilled workforce, including aircraft/aeronautical engineers, pilots, and air traffic controllers, who oversee and regulate various aspects of the aviation sector.

The release also added that a total of 114 of the 416 new positions created in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) have already been filled.

Vacancies in Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA)

Furthermore, with the Ministry of Civil Aviation’s active involvement, the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has introduced ten new positions to streamline its operational functions.

Of these ten positions, five have already been filled, and the remaining vacancies are expected to be occupied in the near future. Additionally, there were 27 vacancies in existing roles, and 24 of them have been filled, with three currently in the process of recruitment.

Vacancies in Airports Authority of India (AAI)

Meanwhile, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) is responding to the increasing demand for air travel by creating numerous posts for Air Traffic Controllers (ATCOs) and initiating recruitment and training efforts.

In two phases, 796 additional ATCO positions were established, with 340 introduced in May 2022 and 456 in April 2023. The official also noted that steps are underway to fill these ATCO positions to enhance air travel services.
