Major airlines including IndiGo, Air India and SpiceJet have issued fresh travel advisories as dense fog and low visibility continue to affect flight operations across several parts of northern and eastern India. Additionally, the Airports Authority of India has also issued a fog advisory on Sunday morning. Passengers flying over the next few days have been cautioned about possible delays, diversions, and cancellations, especially during early morning hours.
The advisories were shared late Saturday night via the airlines’ official X (formerly Twitter) handles, urging travellers to stay alert and check their flight status before heading to airports.
The Airports Authority of India has also released a fog advisory, cautioning passengers about possible delays and operational changes.
“Fog conditions in parts of Northern India are affecting visibility and may lead to delays or changes in flight operations at select airports. Passengers are advised to check flight updates with their airlines through official channels and allow extra time for airport travel and formalities. The Airports Authority of India has deployed passenger assistance teams at affected airports to provide on ground support,” the advisory said.

IndiGo issues travel advisory for northern India
IndiGo said that early-morning fog is likely to significantly reduce visibility across Delhi and other parts of northern India, which could impact flight movements at short notice. In its advisory the airline mentioned that its operations teams are closely monitoring weather conditions throughout the night to minimise disruption.
“Early-morning fog is expected to affect visibility across Delhi and parts of northern India. During these hours, visibility can reduce suddenly, impacting flight operations. Our teams will remain fully prepared through the night, monitoring the weather minute by minute,” the advisory reads.

IndiGo also reminded passengers that alternative travel options or refunds are available if flights are affected. “Before leaving for the airport, we recommend checking the latest flight status. If your flight is impacted, you may conveniently choose another option or claim a refund via https://goindigo.in/plan-b.html,” it added.
Air India issues advisory as dense fog persist
Air India also warned that dense fog conditions are expected to persist in Delhi and parts of northern and eastern India, affecting flight schedules across its network. The airline said it has taken proactive steps to reduce inconvenience but acknowledged that weather-related disruptions may still occur. Passengers have been advised to allow extra time for their journey and stay in touch with the airline for assistance.

SpiceJet issues fog advisory for multiple airports
SpiceJet issued a broader advisory, warning that poor visibility could affect operations at multiple airports across north and east India, including Delhi, Bengaluru, Jammu, and several other cities.
The airline cautioned that both departures and arrivals, along with connecting flights, may be impacted due to the prevailing weather conditions. Urging passengers to remain updated.
