Superstar Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Gabbar Is Back’ box office collections have opened well at Rs 13.05 crore. Despite negative reviews, the film is doing steady business and has become action hero Akshay Kumar’s 4th highest opening day grosser, beating his other releases like Holiday, Its Entertainment and OUATIMD.
The last couple of weeks have been a letdown for Bollywood films, with almost none of the releases managing to make an impact at the box office.
After ‘Baby’, which is the biggest Bollywood grosser in 2015, Bollywood pinned its hope on Akshay Kumar, this time with ‘Gabbar Is Back’, to single-handedly pull filmdom out of the doldrums.

The movie not only received a good opening at box office but also received a heart-melting response from Akshay Kumar’s fans who hired a crane to put garland on ‘Gabbar is Back’ poster. The actor took to Twitter to express his feelings and said that he has never felt so loved.
Just when I felt u’ll have given me enough love,U’ll go ahead & hire a crane to garland my poster!Never felt so loved pic.twitter.com/pxi4dBOwwK
