Walt Disney to acquire stake in UTV Software Communication

The US-based The Walt Disney Company said it will acquire a controlling stake in the Ronnie Screwvala promoted UTV Software Communications by delisting UTV from Indian bourses and integrating the company?s current operations within Disney?s business.

Disney also announced the appointment of UTV?s promoter-CEO Screwvala as the managing director of The Walt Disney Company India. He will report to Andy Bird, chairman of Walt Disney International.
