Wading into an unholy debate

Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray?s provocative comment that Hindu suicide squads be formed to counter Islamic terrorism is condemnable. Even as the Muslim community issued fatwa against terrorism, the Shiv Sena leader seems to have deliberately made the remarks in his party?s mouthpiece to keep himself in the news. If Thackeray is serious about countering terror, he should not have dragged religion into the debate. The time has come for him to stop unholy politics and make his mouthpiece fight for some good purpose.
