I love my brand: First and foremost, this is because I got the chance to create the Tata DoCoMo brand, it?s my baby. I have managed other brands too, but to create one such as Tata DoCoMo and then nurturing it further to make it a successful large brand with millions of customers is a feeling that is unmatched for. Tata DoCoMo is a brand rooted in the lives of people and not around the category codes of connectivity, affordability and relationships. It gives me the unbridled licence to talk about life-insights rather than plump for the virtues of the latest offers in advertising ? almost making the advertising a means of self-expression from ?Question every answer? to ?Keep it Simple, Silly?.

My job is great: Telecom with its short product life-cycle is a pure ‘ideas’ economy. The joy of coming up with a fresh idea, creating a marketing campaign and seeing it bearing results – all in the span of a couple of months is a high that few other marketing jobs can offer. The non-hierarchical environment, the absence of presentations for the sake of presentations and the sheer licence to chase new ideas that the brand offers adds to the joy of being here. The opportunity to work with some of the best creative talents in the country is the icing on the cake.

The turning point in my career: There are two, actually ? first, it was moving to a research agency after starting my career in advertising; second was moving from being a consumer insights specialist to taking charge of creating marketing programmes. These two moves have together shaped my professional career as also my approach towards marketing.

Most inspirational moment: It would be the day when the Tata DoCoMo brand was unveiled. The energy in the room on that day will stay with me forever.

My favourite social networking site: Facebook

In my free time: I like to play cricket or tennis with my friends ? depending on how many I can rustle up on a weekend.

Brands I wear: I am not a brand oriented person, hence, I go for anything that I like.

Average number of job offers I get in a year: Surprisingly, very few. Perhaps it?s because placement consultants cannot believe I would be interested in moving out of the Tata DoCoMo brand

First thing I do after entering the office: Plug in my iPod and get the environment right for work to start.
