Tata Steel’s net profit at Rs 1787.81 cr

Tata Steel on Friday said that its standalone net profit stood at Rs 1787.81 crore for the quarter ended September 2008, against Rs 1190.83 crore in the corresponding quarter of last year.

The sales for the reporting quarter was Rs 6744.16 crore against Rs 4724.85 crore for the same quarter a year ago.

The consolidated results including Corus for the September quarter would be published in November, Tata Steel said in a statement in Mumbai.
