My Daddy the Crocodile Hunter

Animal Planet

8 pm

Bindi Irwin is 10 years old, and it?s safe to say that she?s unlike any other girl of her age. Daughter of legendary Aussie naturalist Steve Irwin, and arguably the world?s greatest crocodile hunter, has grown up in crocodile country. When barely six, she was assisting her father with crocodile captures. When Irwin was fatally pierced by a stingray off the coast of Queensland in 2006, Bindu Sue, named after Irwin?s favourite animals, a saltwater crocodile and a bull terrier, was devastated but promised to carry on the legacy of her father. Now, Bindi is ready to host a special show, My Daddy the Crocodile Hunter, to air on November 9 at 8 pm on Animal Planet. ?I have seen hundreds of captures?. Whenever I was with him, dad also gave me the honour of naming the crocs,? says Bindi. The hour-long programme has clips of rare home movies, her early childhood and on-location shots of some of Steve Irwin?s most exciting television shows and movies. It?s also about a special father and daughter relationship. Bindi, who grew up surrounded by animals, lives on the grounds of the Australia Zoo that Steve Irwin’s family founded in Queensland. She is fast following in her parents? footsteps as an ardent animal and nature lover. Catch the show.
