Symantec, one of the leading service vendors, is expecting its outcome-based service to account for 10%-20% of its revenue, both domestic and international.
?We are expecting that outcome-based service will be a major revenue driver in the service services space,? commented Sudesh Prabhu, senior manager, global services, Symantec, Asia Pacific.
?Within the IT industry, there are a number of ITeS vendor that can be utilised by companies, but they fail to deliver on RoI (return on investment). Vendors provide products, but not solutions in themselves. We, with our outcome-based services, will ensure that the customer gets enough returns on his investment. It?s all about realisation of benefits or outcome,? commented Prabhu.
Outcome-based service have been in vogue in the US and Europe for about a year, and has come into play in India for about the last six months.
In the initial months, Symantec managed to get around five customers in the banking, finance and telecom verticals.
