IBM CEO Gini Rometty on Tuesday said that India can leapfrog over other countries in high value innovation. She was in Bengaluru to introduce its Watson eco-sytem to its customers in India.
“The 21st century will be the Indian century and I really believe that. India can leapfrog over others in many areas. We believe that the cognitive era will help you differentiate yourself with better governance and reduced regulations,” she said during the unveiling of IBM Watson to Indian buisnesses.
IBM Watson is a technology platform that uses natural language processing and machine learning to reveal insights from large amount of unstructured data and throw up solutions in what is known as cognitive computing.
Rometty said India already has the largest developer population and IBM wants to help build the eco-system. She said that coginitive computing will be the most disruptive and India will be at the centre at this fourth shift of technology.
