In an effort to promote computer literacy in the rural areas of Himachal, Kolkatta based RP Infosystems Pvt Ltd, an arm of RP group, has brought its brand- Chirag computers to the Himachal market. The company is planning to focus on expanding into the satellite townships where the use of computer is not prevalent.
Talking to FE, Kaustuv Ray, chairman RP Group said, ?We have got orders for about 5,000 computers through which we aim to penetrate in the smaller markets in Himachal. We plan to reach out to the panchayats and contribute to the rural development by making computers available in the interiors.?
