It is true that upstream oil companies are making unusual profits from high oil prices. But that is no reason for the imposition of any tax on their windfall profits (?Windfall idea?, June 25). This is based on the simple logic that tax should not be subject to price cycles. We must fully endorse the view of Oil Minister Murli Deora against such a tax.
