Tamil Nadu chief minister and AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday released her party?s manifesto for the ensuing general elections, which lists her priorities on 32 national issues. These include reviewing of double taxation avoidance agreements with other countries, petrol, diesel and natural gas pricing policy, shareholding in public sector undertakings, amendment of IT Act to ensure states are not deprived of revenues to ensuring fair pricing of natural resources, and personal income tax.

Taking a march over her rivals in not only announcing the candidates? list first for 39 constituencies in Tamil Nadu and one in Puducherry on Monday, Jayalalithaa moved one step ahead to release the party?s manifesto at the party?s headquarters here. While releasing the manifesto, she said: ?The weight of global economic power is shifting inexorably towards Asia, particularly India and China. It is our firm conviction that within India, Tamil Nadu would emerge as the epicentre of such power.?

?This election manifesto not only indicates what will be done for Tamil Nadu and the Tamil people, but also clearly spells out what measures will be taken up at the all-India level,? she said.
