Old Blighty and her erstwhile precious jewel just keep looking for more ways to be tied to each other. The latest form is Tecknobable Call Centre, located in suburban Mumbai, where the action is going to be for the next few weeks. This seven-part series is midway between the subtler verbal thrusts and parries of the typically British comedy and the more Bollywood inspired slapstick style. It?s about an England that has outsourced its mundane day-to-day problems to a team of tech-savvy university graduates in far-off India, and the often unintended confusion that ensues as red tape meets indignant humans. The lead cast is British, and if the first episode is any indication, Sanjeev Bhaskar, playing UK-born desi, Kenny and Nitin Ganatra, Dev (both familiar to Indian audiences) look set to tickle the funny bone. Supported by Daisy Beaumont, who plays Terri, as the one sent to keep an eye over Kenny, the cast also has many Indians who play cameo roles, including Lillette Dubey, Chunkey Pandey, Dalip Tahil, Raj Zutshi, Vir Das, Vrijesh Hirjee, Rajesh Khera and Anaitha Nair.
