What does success mean to you?
I define success purely as a completion of a task which in my mind holds meaning only for me and not necessarily for anyone else in the world. Also a task is something that one decides on as it comes your way, even though one certainly defines the path on which one would like to move.
I believe the path that I adopt should not be narrow and should allow considerable freedom of manoeuvre, because that would allow a choice of tasks that provide the greatest satisfaction.
What is your greatest strength?
My greatest strength, if I have any, is not to get unduly flustered no matter how vexing or overwhelming a problem might be. I believe that if one really perseveres, one finds a way out of the most burdensome problems that one faces.
What?s your stress buster?
My stress busters are really vague and undefined. I can feel relaxed and at ease in almost any situation. For instance, while chairing the IPCC plenary session in Valencia during November 2007, I went without sleep for 40 hours at a stretch and of course had to deal with stressful situations throughout the day because some countries were making my life quite difficult with the approval of the Synthesis Report of the IPCC. However, I did not lose my cool or my sense of humour throughout that period. The best way to bust stress is not to allow it to enter your system.
God to you is….?
To me God is the inner strength of an individual and an immovable power in the universe to which every human can connect and derive strength from.
