Avinash D Peraud has reported in his article that ?the darkest hour is passing? (FE, Oct 14). I was reading Liferails by Scott Walker. He has referred to the contagious fear pervaded the US in the early 1930s due to the Great Depression. The famous radio broadcast by President Franklin D Roosevelt asserting, ?the only thing we have to fear is fear itself? brought confidence. More steps may be needed to solve our present economic woes. But it?s worth recalling that we have to be free of the ?fear of fear?.
