Nearly five months after Sanjay Sinha quit as chief executive officer (CEO) of L&T Mutual Fund, the asset management company has managed to get a full-time chief. Kailash Kulkarni, head of sales at Kotak Mutual Fund, will soon join L&T MF as its new CEO. Sources say Kulkarni has accepted the offer and has already resigned from Kotak MF. After Sinha had quit, former executive director of UTI MF, Ashutosh Bishnoi, was appointed acting CEO..
Kulkarni could not be reached for his comments. An SMS query to Ved Prakash Chaturvedi, chief executive, capital markets and investment management group, L&T Finance Holdings, also remained unanswered. Prior to joining Kotak MF, Kulkarni was associated with MetLife India Insurance as head, agency sales. He has an experience of over 20 years. Kulkarni?s fund marketing skills will be tested to the fullest at L&T MF, which is a relatively newer player in the space. L&T entered the MF arena by acquiring DBS Cholamandalam AMC in September 2009 for R45 crore.
