Terming the government?s proposal to form another panel to review the report of the Western Ghats Ecology Expert Panel (WGEEP) as ?inappropriate?, its chairman Madhav Gadgil has said, ?I?m willing and would be happy to accept any rejection that comes directly from the locals. However, if the states or New Delhi impose their decision on the report as well, then that defies the very logic and intention of the report. They should understand that it won?t be the right thing to do.?
