Largest private lender ICICI bank on Friday said it will set up four regional hubs in the country to offer technology-enabled services.
The northern hub would be set up in Jaipur in a phased manner at a cost of Rs 500 crore to provide direct employment to about 5,000 people, servicing the ICICI group’s national and international business, ICICI CMD K V Kamath said on Friday.
“Other three hubs would come up at Hyderabad, Gandhinagar and Bhubaneswar,” he said at an inaugural function of resurgent Rajasthan Partnership Summit jointly organised by Rajasthan government and FICCI.
Kamath said the hub would create indirect employment, which could be scaled up to over 10,000 employees over time.
Talking about the rest three hubs, he said “We are in discussion with the respective government authorities on our proposals and look forward to this initiative fructifying.”
ICICI bank is also contemplating with several educational institutions in Rajasthan to build an industry-academia partnership, to equip the youth of the state with the necessary skills for them to capitalise on the employment opportunities in the financial services industry.
The bank is planning to cover 20 educational institutions through this initiative, with roll-out starting next month, he added.
