European Union and other developed nations are under the radar of the Overseas Placement Bureau, (OPB), Haryana to feed the growing numbers of state domiciles keen on job or study assignments abroad. Upbeat with the warm response to campaign to push youth to foreign destinations, OPB is now tying up with other specialsed agencies to facilitate over 10,000 applicants including 1,500 females registered in the last six months.
Taking a cue from neighboring Punjab that leads in number of NRIs’ from the country, OPB is reaching out to youth in urban and rural areas to take up study courses and job assignments in UK, US, Australia, Switzerland, New Zealand, Ireland, Cyprus, Denmark, Canada and Malaysia. The agency has already tied up with Delhi based consultancies, Karnal-based Education Overseas and agencies in few foreign countries for job-placements and further studies.
“Representatives of village panchayats, samitis and civic bodies have been invited to seminars and job fairs organized in seven-districts to encourage people to seek employment and education in foreign countries,” CEO, OPB, Ashok Sharma said.
