Reports suggest that UP chief Minister Mayawati is a possible prime ministerial candidate. As it stands now, she has the support of just 17 members in the Lok Sabha. Besides, she does not have sufficient experience to either lead or manage India. In this time and age, India needs a leader with credibility and stature who can inspire it to play a vibrant global role. Politicians like Mayawati are local operators, lacking the global perspective and maturity to manage the world?s largest democracy and a potential global economic powerhouse. India should be careful in selecting its PM.
