It has come within a year after its predecessor Canon EOS 550D appeared and is slightly bigger and weighs more than the latter.
Despite being in mid-range, this advanced camera is quite easy to use, hence will find favours among amateurs and professionals alike.
The camera helps users capture stunning images and full high definition video, thanks to a range of automatic shooting modes that beginners can use to instantly express their creativity. Whether you?re shooting landscapes, portraits, or close-up macro shots, Basic+ makes it easy to capture the perfect image.
Canon EOS 600D bears a striking resemblance to EOS 550D with barely a few external modifications, except for the flip out LCD panel that can be flopped upside down and closed, giving more protection to the 3-inch LCD when not in use, besides making itself productive when one is taking difficult shots, particularly video recording. Rest of the keys are more or less similar. The rugged looks and matte finish make it easy to grip and carry around.
The buttons are intelligently placed and includes ISO and viewfinder key on the back around the LCD. Around which lies buttons for AV, OK, White Balance, picture style from faithful, black and white, neutral, portrait, single shooting, continuous shoot and self- timer. The front panel features 18-55 mm lens with auto/manual focus. Top panel has shutter speed scroll, shoot button and display on/off button. The image quality is brilliant and even an easy click in auto mode can fetch you fine and rich images, both indoor and outdoor. Canon 600D, like its predecessor, uses the same 18 MP APS-C sensor, and can record full 1929 x 1080p high definition videos at 30fps and 6400 ISO.
Scene Intelligent Auto mode replaces auto mode, and has more options to enhance picture quality through live preview and other options. EOS 660D has an edge in video recording with manual control over frame rate, exposure and sound and is supported with 10x digital zoom in full high definition and 9 AF pts. The optical viewfinder is quite big, like 550D, and offers 95% coverage that would be of great assistance under bright light when LCD is not clearly visible.
If you already own a 550D and you are more into still photography, you don?t have to buy 600D. But, if you are interested in video recording and don?t mind the price, EOS 600D will not disappoint you.
