The market leader in the DTH sector Dish TV has seen a reduction in its net loss to Rs 78.7 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009, from Rs 118.1 crore in the corresponding period last year.
The company?s total income surged by 51.98% to Rs 207.13 crore in the fourth quarter of 2008-09 against a total income of Rs 136.29 crore in Q4 2007-08, Dish TV said.?The company has reported?Ebitda positive?at the operational level in the fourth quarter. ?We hope to turn cash positive by the third quarter of the current fiscal,? said Salil Kapoor, CEO, Dish TV.
For 2008-09, the company posted a consolidated net loss of Rs 440.69 crore. The company had reported a net loss of Rs 414.12 crore in 2007-08. Dish TV?s total income during 2008-09 rose to Rs 739?crore, a jump of 78.93% from Rs 413.6 crore reported during the previous financial year. The company that boasts of a net subscriber base of 4.27 million said that it plans to add another 2.5 million subscribers during this financial year.
