DePuy, part of the Johnson & Johnson Company and one of the world?s largest orthopaedic and neruscience device companies, has set up a facility at Mahindra World City near here, considered the largest outside the US for advanced education and research in India. The new facility will serve as one of the hubs for education training and research on everything from non-surgical early intervention to complex surgery in the areas of orthopedics, spinal care, sports medicine, soft tissue repair, trauma and neurosciences.

Speaking to the FE at the venue, A Vaidheesh, managing director, Johnson & Johson Medical India: ?The facility will set a benchmark in adopting newer technologies with advanced medical equipment to train and teach the students, surgeons and doctors. Set up with an investment of a few million dollars, we expect to train more than 1,000 students/surgeons in the first year and the first programme on Arthroplasty Essentials will commence by month-end.?

To a question, he said, ?The new facility will benefit Johnson & Johnson Medica India in a big way as its products and technologies will get wider access to students and surgeons on different fields as well. We see there is a lot of business sense by providing training and techniques.?
