State-run Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd reported a net profit of Rs 614.12 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2009.

The company had a net loss of Rs 1,066.7 crore in the same quarter last year, BPCL said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The total income has decreased to Rs 26,195.6 crore in the latest quarter, against Rs 3,9297.7 crore in the same period last year.

Shares of BPCL were trading at Rs 459 on the BSE, up 1.91 per cent from the previous close.
